I don't get it? is it me?

Another year

So, last Saturday was my birthday. I've taken another step towards being old. I rang in another year with a lovely head and chest cold. Always fun.

I'm tired. The two weeks before my birthday I have been working like a dog, recording/mixing/mastering a ridiculous number of artists. My brain was fried. My body hurt from the repetitive cycle of setting up studios, tearing them down, and setting them up again. The last 3 days before my birthday were solid 12-13 hours.

I was spent.

And today, the Boy turned 7. He's 4 foot 6 inches. He grows stronger, smarter, and with every day becomes more and more of his own person. Some of it I may not agree with, but its who he is. And who he will become.

For 5 of those years, I have been his father. Or, at least, as close of an approximation of "father" as I can muster. I admit, I'm the furthest thing from a good role model. But I try.

So February. Happy Birthday to The Boy...and to me.
