I had to go get The Woman's new toy inspected at the DMV the other day. Reading material of choice: Roundel, the BMW CCA magazine. I've been a member for 15 years now...still don't have my M. But a fella can dream can't he?

The Boy turns 8

Yep. I gotta say...time really does fly by. I can't believe the little dude is 8 already. Seems like not too long ago, he was just a pudgy 2 year old, who couldn't even say my name yet, and went through diapers like it was going out of style.

Now, he plays Xbox...swims like a fish...eats like a horse....has more friends than I ever had...and is taller than almost everyone his age.

Happy Birthday Little Man...it's good to see you have fun.

Today, with not much of any hoopla, I turned 40. I spent the day playing Monopoly mega with the Boy (funny how its my birthday, but HE gets the present).

No birthday kiss...no birthday card. A quick cursory "Happy Birthday" from the Woman.

We ran errands today and wound up grabbing a quick bite at that godforsaken chain restaurant Chili's. It was like eating a salt lick with some tex mex spices. But it was the only thing we could sort of all agree on...

No good luck pasta or noodles. This has to be the lamest birthday ever. I even paid for gas in that stupid assed Suburban I bought for her....

But then again, I'm 40 now. I shouldn't care about such things right? Like who cares?

I do dammit.

I wanted a present...a card...something from the two people I live with to acknowledge the fact. Nothing.

when you care enough to do absolutely nothing....that's what I got.
